History – Hall Renovation

Well it certainly has been a busy summer!

I’m pleased to advise the work at the hall has now been completed.  There has been a lot of time and effort put into getting the hall back open in time for the start of the new school term.  Special thanks go to Stan Winter who had basically set up his bed in there, although Sally had some peace and quiet!

A big thank you from all of the committee to everyone who has supported us with this project, by either donating or attending our fundraising events.

Transition of the main hall

This wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the support of the local Parish Councils, Councillor’s, grants from MSDC and the National Lottery and of course yourselves!

The hall, in Straight Road,Battisford is already home to a number of local clubs and organisations, including Battisford Preschool, the village snooker club, carpet bowls club, gardening club and yoga classes.  The refurbishment means that now even more users can enjoy the modern facilities.

Mid Suffolk District councillor Dan Pratt – ward councillor for Battisford and Ringshall – was also amongst the guests. Chairman of the Battisford Village Hall Committee, Dean Williams, said: “Everyone has worked so hard to ensure that our village hall remains at the heart of our community.  On behalf of everyone who uses the hall, I’d like to thank all our supporters – in particular those organisations and individuals who helped us fund the work and to our local volunteers who put so much into keeping Battisford a busy and thriving rural village.
